Jarred Gillett, 2009 Hyundai Queensland State League Referee of the Year, has once again been recognised for his officiating abilities.

Gillett has been awarded a scholarship from the Australian Sports Commission to be part of the National Officiating Scholarship Program (NOSP) for 2010.

The NOSP aims to provide an avenue to assist in the development of officials in a high performance officiating environment. The scholarship provides professional development opportunities in a range of areas, practical experience at a high performance level together with mentoring and coaching to improve the officiating skills of scholarship holders.

Gary Power has been approved as mentor for the 2010 program and had the following to say regarding Jarred:

“Jarred is a young referee with enormous potential, what has yet to be seen is how far he is prepared to drive that potential.”

The National Officiating Scholarship program will provide the foundation to reach that potential.

Jarred earned recognition for his performances in 2009, culminating in his award as Hyundai Queensland State League Referee of the year and a nomination for Queensland Officiator of the Year at the 2009 QSport Awards.
