Gold Coast Soccer Coaching Opportunities 2011/12

Gold Coast soccer has grown rapidly over the past 5 years and we now have more than 6,000 registered junior players. During this time player pathways have been established to give stronger players a better chance of developing to the next level. We now have the GC Representative Programme for 12-16 year old players and the GC Next Step Zonal Programme for 11 year old players. We are in the process of introducing the GC First Step Programme for 8-10 year old players.

Each of these programmes provides a pathway to develop talented young players. These players develop through playing with and against better players but we also need to provide a pathway for coaches and continually strive to have the best coaches working with the appropriate age groups and skill levels. The pathway from First Step to Next Step to Representative Coaching requires a larger pool of qualified, motivated coaches who have the passion for developing young players. Gold Coast Soccer is opening up nominations for all suitably qualified coaches who wish to be involved for the following positions.

FIRST STEP PROGRAMME:

Age Group:                      8,9,10

Qualifications:                 FFA Junior License (First Step Programme Accredited)

Time:                                 1 hour per week for 20 weeks (Plus 4 weeks of games)

Pay Rate:                          $25 per hour ($500 a programme)

Player Focus:                   Technical development (passing, dribbling, shooting)

Additional:                       Preferably coach would have experience working with this age group and have the ability to demonstrate drills and correct technique

NEXT STEP PROGRAMME:

Age Group:                      11

Qualifications:                 FFA Junior License (Preferably Senior License)

Time:                                1 hour per week for 10 weeks (Plus 8 weeks of games)

Pay Rate:                         $850 for the programme

Player Focus:                  Functional game skills and technical development

Additional:                      Preferably coach would have experience working with this age group and have the ability to demonstrate drills and implement tactical sessions
