COACHING EDUCATION ON THE GOLD COAST
Gold Coast Soccer is proud to have the highest Coach accreditation rate on a per capita basis in Queensland. GCSI set a target in 2002 within our club coaching structure of 50% Coach Accreditation - we managed to give that a shake (42%). In 2004 our aim was to reach the elusive 50% - with the help and support of the Clubs that target was surpassed and the final figure was 56%. In 2006 we managed to lift the bar again to 66% and this has crept above 70% in 2011.
In excess of 400 Coaches achieved some level of Coaching qualification in 2010 , the seventh year year in succession that over 250 coaches have attended courses. I believe it is within our reach to give EVERY COACH at whatever level at least the bare minimum of Coach Education. We owe it to our players. In 2011 as of 27th July 300+ coaches have recieved some level of accreditation with courses being held at the followings clubs - KINGSCLIFF, MUDGEERABA, BURLEIGH, BROADBEACH, COOMERA, ROBINA (2), MUSGRAVE, PALM BEACH (2), SOUTHPORT ,MERRIMAC, PACIFIC PINES, COOMERA and GOLD COAST FOOTBALL.
Also courses have been held for teachers with Catholic Education, GPS, Associated Private Schools, State schools Palm Beach and Helensvale and Griffith University.
